Oils used in Field & Forest Goat Milk Soap

Avocado oil: a rich, deep penetrating, heavy oil that nourishes and restores dry, dehydrated skin. High in Vitamins A, D and E. It contains proteins, lecithin, beta-carotene, as well as potassium - known as the youth mineral. The fatty acids contained are palmitic, palmitoleic, stearic, oleic, linoleic and linolenic. Keeps skin moist and smooth; soothes sensitive skin, especially scaly skin and scalps and acts as a natural bactericidal.

Castor oil: a great moisturizing oil, it helps condition the skin and creates a stable lather. Offers anti-inflammatory properties; helps treat eczema, psoriasis, chapped skin and burns; moisturizes skin; assists pain relief; acts as an anti-bacterial agent; aids conditions such as sciatica, rheumatism and shingles.

Coconut oil: useful in formulations for dry, itchy, sensitive skin. It will not clog pores; light and non-greasy, it absorbs readily into the skin. A main staple in the soap making industry because of its resistance to rancidity and contribution towards making a hard bar of soap with a wonderfully fluffy lather.

Grapeseed oil: has some astringent qualities and is good for oily, acne prone skin.

Hempseed oil: similar to that of Flaxseed (Linseed) oil; has a low amount of saturated fatty acids and a high amount of the polyunsaturated essential fatty acids (linoleic and linolenic acids). A great moisturizing oil that helps condition the skin and creates a stable lather. Hempseed is really a tiny nut, rather than a seed, that contains about 20 to 35 percent protein, 20 to 30 percent carbohydrates and 10 to 15 percent insoluble fiber. Phosphorous, potassium, magnesium, sulfur, calcium and other minerals are also found in Hempseed. Helps heal skin lesions and dry skin; reduces inflammation of skin and joints; contains pain-killing and anti-nausea properties.

Lavender essential oil: has a very strong floral scent and is recognized as having multiple other beneficial properties: analgesic, anticonvulsant, anti-depressant, anti-microbial, anti-rheumatic, antiseptic, anti-spasmodic, anti-toxic, deodorant, insecticide, parasitical, sedative, stimulant, tonic, and as a vulnerary.

Neem oil: antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal, antiseptic, and anti-parasitic; used as a medicinal treatment of skin diseases; contains Vitamin E; has essential fatty acids and moisturizing and regenerative properties. The Neem tree, grown in India and many other countries including Northern Australia, is also known as The Wonder Tree and the Village Pharmacy as the tree has developed its own protection with strong insecticidal and therapeutic properties to protect itself from damaging insects and fungi. This tree is a unique gift of nature with so many qualities. Every part of the tree is used. The best part of the tree are the kernels, the oil is cold pressed form the kernels without any chemicals or heat being used therefore it maintains its pure strength. Treats skin disorders, such as eczema, psoriasis, ringworm, scabies and more; controls dandruff; helps eliminate lice; relieves swollen gums and kills bacteria that causes gingivitis.

Olive oil: an elegant emollient; beneficial for wrinkles, UV damage, cracked and chapped skin.

Palm oil: extracted from the fruit of the palm tree; produces a hard bar of soap that lasts long.

Rice Bran oil: easily absorbed into the skin with no greasy residue. Good for mature, delicate and sensitive skin. Provides moderate penetration with little greasiness; promotes of collagen formation; treats dry, mature skin.

Shea butter: a particularly effective moisturizer because contains so many fatty acids, which are needed to retain skin moisture and elasticity.

Soy bean oil: clinically proven to even skin tone and smooth skin texture; high in natural source lecitihin, sterolins; rich in unsaturated fat acid, sterols, Vitamins A, E and K; antioxidant properties; moisturization and barrier protection; reduces a wide variety of skin discolourations, such as age or sun spots; reduces the appearance of redness caused by acne and sun exposure.

Sweet almond oil: a great moisturizing oil; helps condition skin and creates a stable lather. Excellent emollient; alleviates dry skin; soothes inflammation; relieves itching caused by eczema, psoriasis and dermatitis; soothes sunburn.

Tea tree oil: Although the Tea Tree plant is grown in several other parts of the world; it is indigenous Australia is most widely known for its antimicrobial activities and is also used to combat a variety of ailments including; acne, dandruff, athlete's foot, lice, eczema and psoriasis.
